After School Performing Arts Clubs

Information for Schools

PLAY ON! Theatre provides a range of after school clubs and PPA cover for primary schools. PLAY ON! is based in Rugby, Warwickshire, and has been successfully running performing arts clubs for local schools for 9 years (Click here to view testimonials).  The clubs are fun, dynamic and designed to build confidence and creativity whilst developing performing arts skills. All of our staff are experienced in teaching drama and music to 4-18 year olds, have enhanced DBS checks, 1st aid training and are fully insured. Click here to view our insurance certificate. 

There’s no charge to the school for the after school clubs. Parents pay £4 per weekly session, per child. Please Contact Yve  to discuss starting one of our clubs at your school.

PLAY ON! Drama Club

Drama games, improvisation, mime, music, script work, interactive storytelling, audition and rehearsal skills!!

PLAY ON! Music Club

Vocal warm-ups, singing, songwriting, recording songs, music history, appreciation of music from different cultures,  rhythm and percussion!

PLAY ON! Dance Club

Physical warm up games, gymnastic skills, creating dance routines, improvisation, performing a variety of dance including jazz, ballet and tap.

PLAY ON! Musical Theatre Club

Acting, singing, dancing & performing from musical theatre scripts!

Important Information

Running time:

1 hour after school, once a week.

Length of term:

Approximately 10 sessions per term. (5 week starter course available*)

Location:

School hall or other suitable space
(e.g. music room/classroom).

Resources:

PLAY ON! Theatre provides the
resources for sessions, including props, costumes and music to support the
activities.

Fees:

£4 per child, per weekly session (payable termly, by parents or pupil premium).

Club Size:

Clubs are run in mixed age groups, with a minimum of 10 pupils attending.

Behaviour:

High levels of behaviour are expected and encouraged, to allow pupils to get the most out of the sessions. 'Star of the week' awards are given for progress and good behaviour.

Health & Safety:

A safe, secure learning environment is maintained throughout the session. Our staff will bring their DBS, First Aid and Insurance certificates for the school to view.

Starting Up:

(1) Please contact Yve on 01608 682828 to discuss a convenient week day and proposed start date.
(2) Distribute 'PLAY ON!' forms to parents.
(3) Providing a minimum of 10 students book on, PLAY ON! will be ready to run on the proposed start date!

*5 week starter course, £20 per child
(5 sessions x £4 payable by parents).
